Wall Details

The stud wall system at Bethel Point was finished with red cedar shake shingles and insulated with dense-pack cellulose, achieving an R-21 value. This combination provided both a warm, natural exterior finish and excellent thermal performance suited to the coastal climate.

The modern stud walls of the Glass House were finished in either stucco or Shou Sugi Ban siding and combined dense-pack cellulose with Zip-R sheathing to achieve an impressive R-33 wall assembly, balancing modern aesthetics with exceptional energy performance and durability.

The hybrid wall system of the Virginia Beach house combined composite siding with ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) panels, creating a distinctive, one-of-a-kind finish for this contemporary beach home. The assembly achieved an R-value of 28.5
